    A regular shoelace knot is a square knot, which is really quite different to the cobra (Solomon) knot that you tied, you must have been pretty confused when trying to tie your shoes when you were a wean! Great to hear a (west central?) Scots accent again though and I hope that you have found a simpler way to tie yer laces these days (bet you only wear slip-ons). 🙂

    Hahahahhaha - stick to your Cannon. The M262 is a brilliant camera and it's pretty laughable that you don't get it but still choose to make a video about something that you obviously with respect don't know much about!

      Thank you. I used to put settings but it was so time consuming to add so I stopped. As long as it is sunny in Denver they are almost always f11, 1/1000, iso 800. (iso might be 400 or shutter speed 1/500 in some conditions). 🙏✌️

    Do you never miss a shot because you miscalculated the distance? Also which aperture are you using usually?😊

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon 15 днів тому

      I mostly use f11 and set the distance to 10ft and leave it there. I’ll use f8 on cloudy days. That way almost everything is in focus all of the time. If something is close I pull the lens to about 3-4 feet and it usually works out. I rarely find anything is not sharp enough and it frees my mind up to pay attention to my surroundings. This might not work for most people but it just seems to click for me when doing street photography. But yes, I occasionally do miss focus.

      @@TheLiamGordon thanks for your answer! I was thinking the same (frees the mind) because focusing for every photo can be exhausting. Maybe an amateur move ☺️

    Leica look is not about image quality. The Summicron lenses are not the lenses from Leica that can render the Leica look. Summilux and Noctilux are the lenses with caractère that will render the LL. Some other oldest lenses from Leica ca also do it. Those lenses were made by hands and are different to each others.

    for me, i can see its value as a one and done kind of leica lens; great IQ, a fair heft, and sick ergonomics. heck, it’s even cheaper than the KoB because used modern lens isn’t so demanded, so it’s a banger value price to performance in second-hand market. but if you already have other M lenses, it’ll be moot in marginal returns. since they can do 80-90% for a fraction of the price- it’s hard to justify having one. as for me, been enjoying it a lot on the m4, and like the flexibility of the 6-bit tech if i get a digital M. i knew i wanted a cron later on, “buy once cry once” so they say!

    I just bought an A7C yesterday. I do street photography and value small and lightweight bodies. I’m trying this body for two reason. I don’t own a full frame camera and want to see if there is a difference between APSC and FF images. I’m thinking not much. I want to experience Sony’s autofocus. I am a photographer so I much prefer a tilt screen. Having the screen sticking out from the body attracts unwanted attention. I’m not impressed with the EVF. On the other hand, I use the EVF so I’m glad there is one. I like IBIS and glad the A7C has this feature. I’m looking forward to see how effective it is. I have an Olympus E1Mii and that IBIS is very effective. I’m curious to see how the B&W jpegs are. I love contrasty B&W that crushes the blacks. I was happy to see a larger battery. I’m not a professional so I don’t need dual card slots. I bet small camera’s don’t have this feature. I need to buy a lens. Looking for a small 35 or 50mm lens. I don’t need a bright lens. I’m setting the camera up so I don’t have to menu dive. I hope I like this camera. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

    I got the X100VI at launch, I sold it after a week.. don't think it gained very much over the V.... So I now got a 1100 usd. as new X100V, which is much better than the 2000 usd. a new X100V costs here in Scandinavia... I'll keep it and then buy the X100VII when that comes out... then I don't feel my loss will be too big :D

      Indeed. The technology has been good enough for a long time and its just incremental things like IBIS and megapixels that some people will covet!

    I wanted a X100 since the first version but never took the plunge because I like playing with old manual lens. I finally decide to buy one mainly as a travelling camera but I love it so much that I’m not picking up my other cameras. 40mp image IS nuts and I would have loved to be lower as my travelling setup is only with an iPad and it struggling with the size of image.

    Two questions: Isn’t the higher resolution essential for a camera without a real zoom? It allows you to crop aggressively instead. Isn’t IBIS a massive boost in low light? To me that is where it could shine. Reducing the blur at low shutter speeds? Am I missing something?

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon 2 місяці тому

      Great questions. You're not missing anything other than my video being purely framed from my own preferences and biases. Long answer coming... There's nothing wrong with favoring high resolution so you can crop aggressively if it suits you. I prefer to either frame to the best of my ability without cropping, zoom with my feet, or in some cases, crop a little. If I found myself consistently cropping I would use a camera with a lens that felt more appropriate for how I shoot. Furthermore, I don't think high megapixels are always essential for serious cropping. 8MP will fill a 4k screen and a pretty big crop of a 24MP sensor can still produce 8MP images. I'll link a video that convinced me I didn't really need all the megapixels - ua-cam.com/video/E8Sej2TEes4/v-deo.html&pp=ygUTY2hyaXMgaGF1IDEyIHZzIDEwMg%3D%3D IBIS is great in low light if you use slow shutter speeds. I usually want to freeze some kind of motion so it is of little use to me 99% of the time. That is the only reason I don't personally care for it. I would rather have the camera built sturdier and have one less moving part that could fail. All of this is purely my preference and it could swing the other direction for you or others and that is completely fine. I don't mean to sound like my way is the correct way (it's probably far from it). Your questions also raised a great point that I do not make clear and concise content while I am sick :)

    Enjoyed hearing your perspective. I do think they're pretty cameras, but I can't go for the expense or the hype. Renting one would be fun, though. If I do, I'll definitely use your code.

    Ended up having to return mine to BHphoto and requested an exchange due to the EVF screen being stuck. Pressing the lever did nothing. Resetting the entire camera back to factory settings did nothing. Turning the camera on and off at times only unstuck it half way so you’d be able to see out of the OVF but the black EVF screen would still remain. Super bummed, only got around 5 days use out of the camera before the issue arose. The replacement will probably take months to be issued 😢.

      That’s interesting. I got rid of my x100v in early 2021 because the viewfinder was developing a black spot in the corner and it was getting bigger. I had an x-pro2 with a glitchy evf too. You’re the first person I’ve heard about having viewfinder issues too. The more tech they squeeze in the more I worry about things being fragile. I hope your replacement doesn’t take too long :(

      @@TheLiamGordon I’ve never had any issues with previous Fuji cameras. My Xpro 3 is still running very well with no issues. Never had anything like that with my x100v. I don’t wanna attribute it to it being made in china but definitely disappointed

    Question? I have a Fuji XT-5 but over the last year I found that I more enjoy being the point and shoot capture the moment film look person. Taking my Fuji XT-5 on trips is such a hassle that I was thinking of selling it to get the Fuji X100VI. What do you think of this?

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon 2 місяці тому

      The X100VI has just about as much tech packed in it as the XT5 and the images will look similar. If you just want a smaller, prettier camera, the X100VI will do that but it's no point-n-shoot. I'd probably be inclined to find the smallest lens I could for the XT5 and use it in the same way I would use the X100. Maybe the 27mm pancake lens? It wont be much bigger than the X100VI. Or if you truly want a point-n-shoot type camera, the older Fuji X70 or Ricoh GR are closer to that type of camera. I can't tell you what is the right choice for you though that's why I always encourage folks to try renting cameras first and see if they feel right for you :)
